Terms and Conditions for Galway Community Events Calendar
Overview
The Galway Community Events Calendar has been developed as an accessible online portal to help non-profit organisations to promote community led events in Galway City and County. The objective of the calendar is to make it easy for organisations to inform the public about community events that are happening around them that are relevant to their location and interests.
The terms and conditions developed below have been designed to ensure that events promoted on the calendar are relevant and reflect the ethos and values of Galway Volunteer Centre.
Event Submission Eligibility

The Galway Community Events Calendar is open to submissions from community organisations, charities, and other not-for-profit organisations such as sports clubs, arts organisations.

Submissions from for-profit entities or individuals representing commercial interests are not permitted.

Submissions for events being organised by individuals on a personal basis are not permitted.

The person(s) from the organisation submitting the event must have the appropriate permissions or authority to do so.
Event Criteria

Events that promote political campaigns, or content deemed inappropriate, harmful, or offensive will not be approved.

Events promoting hate speech, violence, or discrimination based on race, gender, sexuality, religion, or any other protected characteristic will not be tolerated.

Events submitted must align with the goals of supporting community participation and engagement, public benefit, education, or charitable work.

Each event must clearly state its purpose and target audience, and it should provide accurate details (time, date, location, etc.).

The event should be open to the public or a defined community group.
Submission Process

All event submissions must be made through the official online submission form.

The organisation must provide complete and accurate information, including:

Date and time

Venue or online platform details

A short event description

Contact information for the organisation

Submission of an event does not guarantee its inclusion in the Galway Community Events Calendar. Each submission will be reviewed and approved at the discretion of the calendar administrator. Any disagreement regarding appropriateness of events or language used in postings may be referred to the manager of Galway Volunteer Centre for final decision.
Review and Approval

The Galway Community Events Calendar administrator reserves the right to review, approve, edit, or reject any submitted event.

Incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate submissions may be rejected.

Submissions may be edited for clarity, formatting, or to meet the platform’s standards.

The administrator reserves the right to remove events at any time, particularly if they are found to violate these terms or the values of the platform.
Responsibilities of Submitting Organizations

The submitting organisation is responsible for ensuring all event details are accurate and up to date.

Any changes to the event (date, time, location, etc.) must be communicated promptly by updating the submission or contacting the administrator.

The organisation submitting the event must ensure that the event complies with all relevant laws, regulations, and permits (including health and safety requirements, if applicable).
Liability

The Galway Community Events Calendar administrator is not responsible for any errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in the event listings provided by submitting organisations.

The Galway Community Events Calendar administrator is not liable for any losses, damages, or claims arising from the promotion, attendance, or cancellation of events listed on the platform.

The submitting organisation assumes full responsibility for the content of their event submissions, including any third-party rights or legal obligations.
Event Promotion

By submitting an event, the organisation agrees to allow Galway Volunteer Centre to promote the event via the platform, social media, email newsletters, or other channels, at the discretion of the administrator.

The submitting organisation grants Galway Volunteer Centre the right to use event-related content (such as images, descriptions, or logos) for promotional purposes.
Privacy and Data Protection

The personal information submitted during the event registration process will be handled in accordance with the platform’s privacy policy.

The organisation submitting the event must ensure that any third-party data provided (e.g., speakers or attendees) complies with data protection laws.
Amendments to Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions may be updated from time to time at the discretion of Galway Volunteer Centre.

It is the responsibility of submitting organisations to review the Terms and Conditions before submitting each event.
