Follow-up with Volunteers
Please note that apart from giving advice to volunteers about the best option for them, we do not select or screen volunteers for organisations. Anybody who is interested in the volunteer role will either apply directly through our website or will contact you themselves by phone or email. You will receive notifications of any applications through our website from the email address i-vol@volunteer.ie. Please make sure emails from this address are not being directed to spam by your email service (e.g. Gmail, Outlook).
We follow-up with potential volunteers one week after they use our service to apply for an opportunity. Potential volunteers will be using this follow up to indicate whether or not an organisation has made contact with them. We would advise that interested volunteers contacting your organisation are responded to within this 1 week period, by email or phone call confirming that their expression of interest has been received as well as information on what will happen next, and how long it may take. This is not only a matter of general courtesy but will also ensure that you don’t miss out on volunteers who could be of great benefit to your organisation
Follow-up with Organisations
We will contact you again after 4 weeks (or a more appropriate time to suit your role) to see if you have been able to source volunteers through us and also to see if you would like to keep the vacancy on our website.
If anyone has applied for your opportunity, we will provide you with a list of names to check against your own records. We will also provide you with a survey link, to provide us with the names of our service users that have started volunteering or are awaiting training/screening. If you have enough volunteers prior to us contacting you, please let us know, so we can remove the opportunity from the website. This will ensure that you do not receive any more queries about this opportunity.
Please note that if we do not receive a response to any follow-up, we will have to remove the vacancy from our website as we will not be able to guarantee potential volunteers that the vacancy is still available. Also, if we do not receive this information, we will not be able to advertise further opportunities for you until you return the survey as the success and continued funding for our free volunteer recruitment service is dependent on receiving this vital feedback information from organisations.
